Welcome to the Appenzeller Echo sites

Foundation of the formation

The Appenzeller Echo was founded in November 1997 by the brothers Josef and Benjamin Rempfler. After several years of musical activity in various groups, they have found, together with Walter Neff, an ideal platform to fully live out the musical preferences and styles.

Varied "musical bouquet" for different occasions

The Appenzeller Echo plays old, traditional string music titles in the traditional instrumentation of violin, dulcimer, bass and also cultivates Appenzeller music with singing and yodeling. For a change, they also play newer Appenzeller music with the accordion. So all come to enjoy the many Appenzell styles, new original compositions, to “folk music” interludes from versch. World regions in various rhythms such as waltz, mazurka, Scottish, polka, swing, tango, Hungarian tunes, Irish and Celtic music, etc..

For many years, the Appenzeller Echo was invited to play at many family celebrations such as birthdays or weddings, as well as at aperitifs, receptions, seminars, congresses, exhibitions, general meetings, anniversary celebrations, vernissages to national celebrations at home and abroad.
