Informations about Josef Rempfler

My passion belongs to the Appenzell Country Music. I was born on July 23rd 1967
in Appenzell (Switzerland). As son of a farmer I’ve been introduced to the culture of Appenzell pretty soon.

At the age of five I began to sing with my father and had my first appearance on stage. Two years later I changed my block flute against the violin and began my classic eduction with Dr. Josef Signer. At this time I began to play the legendary Alphorn together with my father and entered the youth chorus of Appenzell.

At the age of thirteen I became a co-founder of the “Boys String Music Group Weissbad“, 1993 of the formation “Quartett Laseyer Appenzell” and made my debut and on November 1997, I and my brother Benjamin (we are playing in a Trio or Quartett) have found a name for our Music Group: “Appenzeller Echo“. Later in Automn 1998 I started a new project with three other musicians under the name of “Rondo(m) Appenzell“.

Since at the beginning of 2004 my main musical work applies the Appenzeller Echo. With this formation, we play the whole pallet of self compositions, music from Appenzell, salon music and other folkmusic.
